Alan Michael Atchison

We are sad to announce the passing of Alan Atchison.  Alan was born in Emporia, KS on January 4, 1990, and passed away at 33 years old on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in Plattsburg, Missouri.  Alan graduated from Northern Heights High School in Allen, KS in 2008.  Cause of death is currently unknown.

Alan is survived by his mother and father Christina and Aaron Atchison; brother, Casey Atchison; sister Amber Rice; sister-in-law Kari Ludes; brother-in-law Ron Rice; nephews Caede and Kailen; nieces Luna and Ariah; grandparents Richard and Doris Crone and Jody Indermuehle.  Alan was preceded in death by his grandfathers Deacon Indermuehle and Michael Atchison.

Alan was a son, a brother, a grandkid, an uncle and a friend.  He always made others smile and laugh.  He was the life of the party and always cracking jokes or singing at the top of his lungs.  His family describes him as loving, kind-hearted, compassionate, and goofy.

Alan had a love for his workplace and traveling with the carnival Evans Midland Empire for 17 years.  Alan worked hard for the company and worked his way up to being the company supervisor.  He loved his job and all the workers there.  They all took care of one another like family.  Alan’s favorite part about working at the carnival was being able to see all the kids and families smile and laugh.  Before Alan took on more time and love for the carnival, he enjoyed being a DJ at events.  Playing music and lights while people danced their hearts out was a big joy of his.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 20 from 5:30pm-6:30 at Sawyer Funeral Home in Council Grove, KS.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 21 at 11:00am at Sawyer Funeral Home followed by graveside burial at the Wilsey Cemetery.  The family has asked that flower arrangements be sent to Sawyer Funeral Home.
