Danny Wayne Axe passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at the age of 81.
He was born July 8, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to Baker and Helen Axe.
Due to his father's military service, they moved frequently; however, Danny planted roots in Texas, California, and Kansas.
In California, he would be met with his main loves in life: his wife of 60 years, Donna; his children, Sandie and Danny (Dan Dan); welding; baseball; and racing. In October 1972, he moved the family from Norwalk, California, to Council Grove, Kansas, for better opportunities and to be closer to his parents.
Danny was a simple man with few words but a tireless work ethic. He always had his tape measurer at his hip, ready to come up with the next best way to accomplish a goal. Growing up, Danny worked alongside his parents at their bakeries across the country and spent time in multiple welding shops. As he grew up, he spent more of his time and skills on racing teams - including several decades on NASCAR tracks, before being inspired to open up his own businesses: Danny’s Fix It All, Custom Fabricators, Custom Sheet and Steel, Custom Stock Cars, Axe Equipment, Stinger by Axe, Axe Motorsports, WELDITALL, and Neosho Kennels. Most of which are still in operation today. Within his businesses, he developed and earned several US federal design patents. Outside of the “office,” Danny also coached area Baseball teams.
Danny is survived by his wife, Donna, daughter, Sandie, and granddaughter, Claire, all of whom are in Council Grove, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you enjoy time with loved ones and do something kind for the community.
