Janice Kay Wishon

Janice Kay Wishon, lifetime resident of Council Grove, Kansas, passed on to heaven, October 24, 2024.

She was born to Pat and Fern (Reasner) on June, 21, 1938. She married Eudean Wishon on September 5, 1956, and they had seven children. 

Janice worked as a cook at Lucy’s Drive Inn and Tom Drive Inn. She also worked at Council Grove Nursing Home. She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed puzzles, playing marbles and kings in the corner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Oran Deaner, siblings: Patty Hewitt, Delores Steere, Joann Stoler, Tammy Cramer, and Bill Davis.

Janice is survived by her children: Sandy Loquist (Eric), of Osage City, Terry Yowell Olsen (Randall) of Council Grove, Kim Deaner, of Poplar Bluff, MO, Stanley Wishon (Laura), of Council Grove, Mark Wishon (Davita) of Council Grove, Jimmy Wishon (Karla), of Freemont, NE, and Melissa Whitemore (fiancé Tim Williams), of Manhattan; 2 stepchildren, Jakie Wishon and Katie Wishon; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister Lana Poff.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sawyer Funeral Home, Monday, October 28th, from 5:00-6:30. A memorial service will be held at 11:00, Tuesday, October 29th, at First Baptist Church.
