Kolter’s life began on July 10, 2008. He is the son of Neil (Courtney) Litke and Jenna (Derrick) Dakken. Kolter was known by many as “Bob;” a nickname he acquired after years of wearing his favorite orange button-up shirt, mimicking Bob the Builder. Kolter was attending Council Grove High School and would have been starting his 10th grade year. He loved athletics and was a star athlete in football, basketball, baseball, tournament baseball, track, and wrestling. Kolter was an expert pitcher and catcher but had the natural talent to dominate any position he played. He enjoyed time roller blading in the high school parking lot and at the skating rink as well as attempting to balance on a hoverboard. Aside from his incredible skills on a variety of courts, fields, tracks and diamonds Kolter loved the youth rodeo and participated in a number of events over the years. Kolter worked hard to become an excellent welder, taking great pride in welding anything he could get his hands on. Kolter even spent last summer welding dumpsters alongside his grandfather. To say Kolter was a hard worker is an understatement; he spent this summer working on the Richardson farm and around the family farm and after those long days ended, he loaded up the mower and went around the community mowing lawns. Kolter was very patriotic and loved country life in the good ole’ USA. He is survived by his parents Neil (Courtney) Litke of Council Grove, Jenna (Derrick) Dakken of Council Grove; his siblings Kaleb Litke of Council Grove, Kaedyn Litke of Council Grove, and Izzy Clift of Council Grove; his paternal grandparents Jeff and Marsha Litke of Council Grove and Lisa Buchman of Council Grove; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kolter passed away on Sunday August 6, 2023, at Morris County Hospital. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lori Forter, paternal great-grandparents Don and Lucile Litke, paternal great-grandfathers Lloyd Brown and Lloyd Fields. Kolter’s family will gather with friends on Friday August 11, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. at the Sawyer Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Flint Hills Apostolic Church. Kolter Lee will be laid to rest in Sunny Slope Cemetery next to his late great-grandparents. Memorial contributions in Kolter’s name may be directed to the Morris County Youth Rodeo Association.
