Larry Bryan Banks

Larry Bryan Banks passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025 at his residence. He was born on November 2, 1944, to Clyde George and Ruby Elizabeth Banks in Dwight, Kansas. Larry joined the US Navy at the age of 17. He later married Janet Ann Bray in August 1965 and had two children, Troy Bryan and Christy Ann. 

Larry was a gas station manager prior to becoming a longshoreman in Long Beach, CA in 1969. He retired after 38 years and moved back to Council Grove in 2007. Larry enjoyed working around his property, going to coffee in the mornings and helping youth in the community.

Larry was preceded in death by his brothers: Carroll Lee, and Ernest “George”; and two sisters: Mildred Pauline and Cheris Gay. 

Larry is survived by his children: Troy Banks and Christine Gould; his brother “Fred”rick Calvin Banks; his two grandchildren: Cory Bryan Banks and Alexandria Taylore Lonetti; and two great grandchildren: Penelope Lynn Banks and Jack Bryan Banks; cousins, nieces and nephews. 

At Larry’s request, cremation has taken place. The family is planning a Celebration of Larry’s Life in late May or early June.
