It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Linda Sue Clough (Ziegenhirt), who passed away on August 25, 2023, at the age of 76.
Born on May 10, 1947, at home on the farm in White City, Kansas, to Carl and Edith Ziegenhirt. They later moved to Alta Vista, Kansas, where she grew up and remained her entire life. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband, Kenneth R. Clough, who proceeded her in death in 2008, and a loving mother to her children, Jay Peterson (wife Laura), John G. Davison III (wife Faith), Lorie S. Underwood (husband Bill), and an especially loving “Grammy” to Chris, Emma, Nick, Anna (Davison), and Braven, Aiden, Caymen (Underwood). Linda was the 5th of 6 siblings Bonnie Sisson, Delpha Logan, Carl Ziegenhirt Jr, John Ziegenhirt, and Bob Ziegenhirt.
Linda Clough worked and retired from K-State University as a secretary in the departments of Veterinary Medicine, Journalism, and Geology. Linda was a true Wildcat fan and on game days could be heard excitedly rooting for the win. Linda rarely wore any color except for K-State purple. Prior to working at K-state she had an in-home daycare…she loved all babies all the time.
Linda was a devout Christian attending Pleasant Ridge Christian Church until its closing. She served as the church treasurer and secretary. Linda raised her children to love Christ.
Linda Clough was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her unconditional love for others over herself. As evident by her mail, Linda gave to every organization…Wounded Warriors, Disabled Vets, St Jude’s, the Diabetic Association, and many more.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at High View Church located in Alta Vista. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alta Vista Core Community a program geared to healing lives, solving poverty, and empowering communities for greatness through relationships, in memory of Linda Clough, mailed to PO Box 101 Alta Vista KS 66834.
Enjoy walking before Jesus dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
