Shirlee Yadon

Shirlee Yadon, lifetime resident of Council Grove, Kansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born March 19, 1937, in Council Grove, to Harold Faydell and Gladys Mae (Hudson) Krause. She was one of five children. 

Shirlee married Cecil Dean Yadon on December 20, 1952, at Council Grove Christian church. They had three children: Tena, Rickey and Tammy. 

Shirlee enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, fishing, gardening, and working alongside Cecil on the farm. Shirlee’s greatest joy came from her family, she dearly loved spending time with them. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, and siblings: Dorothy, Jean, Harold “Bud” and Judith. 

Shirlee is survived by her children: Tena Johnson (Terry), Rickey Yadon (Darcy) and Tammy Cobb (Darrell); grandchildren: Scotty Yadon (Bonnie), Tyler Yadon (Desiree), Jessica Yadon, Chris Criche, Miranda Criche, Ryan Furman (Amber), Rachel Talib and Luke Furman; great-grandchildren: Zane, Ashton, Danica, Zayden, Maylea, Paislee, Cyler, Emilea, Trinity, Serenity, Jaron, Killian and Dax; 7 step-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and 3 on the way; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirlee will be sadly missed by all. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00, Monday, December 2nd, at Sawyer Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery.
