Simon Paul Asebedo age 67, passed away peacefully 4:17 p.m. Sunday, February 9th at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, Kansas, surrounded by family. 

Simon Paul was born March 24, 1957, in Manhattan, Kansas to Roman M. and Norma P. Asebedo. 

Simon worked for Sears in Manhattan, KS for many years and then for Home Depot several years before retiring. 

He loved visiting families and friends, fishing, hunting, and he had great memories created with families and friends on Canada fishing trips and other organized trips with friends in the United States. 

Simon enjoyed working on tractors, watching sports, baseball and football, working on the farm, working with cattle, and cutting wood for neighbors and friends. He visited several elderly farmers who were homebound. Simon always emulated helping others and enjoyed working with his nephews and great nephews on outside jobs. 

Simon is survived by three sisters and three brothers: Margaret (Asebedo) Bonura of Centennial, Colorado, Phil Asebedo of Denver, Colorado, Altamae (Slansky) Sloan of Waterville, Kansas, Tonleia (Slansky) Coltharp of Madison, Wisconsin, Roman Roy Asebedo of Wilsey, Kansas and Ed Asebedo of Madison, Wisconsin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother, Johnny Lawrence Asebedo, brother, Michael Slansky, sister, Rita (Asebedo) Dugan, and sister, Jennie (Asebedo) Murillo. 

Simon requested no funeral service. Cremation and instructions as he wished to be carried out by family appointed. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends Helping Friends, assistance to local cancer victims and their families. They may be sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
